TENNIS COURT REGULATIONS

I. Applicability

  1. All residents of Windgate II and III have equal privileges on the tennis courts with the two exceptions listed below. Residents must have a valid Windgate II or III Recreation Card to qualify for court use. The Recreation Card must be displayed in the holder on the fence at the pool gate while you are playing. A resident has no court privileges without the Recreation Card. Tennis courts are for tennis play only.
  2. Failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for action by the Board of Directors or the Management Company, including the barring of violators from use of the tennis courts.

II. Instructions for Play

  1. Order of Play - Court A (Unreserved) The order of play is determined by the position of the Recreation Cards in the holder located on the fence. Use of the holder is mandatory.
    1. Only one card per unit may be placed in the holder.
    2. A player must be available to claim a court when his/her card advances to the front of the holder. If a player is not present when his turn arrives, his/her card will be moved to the rear of the holder.
    3. A player who passes his turn for any reason must move his/her card to the rear of the holder. The next player in line must then accept the court or pass by moving his/her card to the rear of the holder.
  2. Order of Play - Court B (Reserved)
    1. Court B is designated for reservation use. A sign up sheet will be posted for reserving a court.
    2. Residents may sign up for the court no earlier than 8:00 p.m. of the day preceding the day of play. Any reservation made prior to 8:00 p.m. of the preceding day will be invalid.
    3. Residents of a unit may sign up to use the reserved court only one time per day. Exception: After the resident has finished playing, he/she may sign up for a later time during that day.
    4. If court B is not reserved at any time, the rules of play for Court A apply except that the court must be vacated by the time of the next reservation.
  3. Time Limits
    1. Singles play lasts one (1) hour.
    2. Doubles play lasts one and one-half (1½) hours.
  4. Procedures for Play
    1. Time of play begins upon entry onto the court.
    2. The clocks located on the fence near the gate must be set with the time of entry onto the court. No exceptions.
    3. A player must leave the court immediately when time has expired if persons are waiting to play.
    4. Players are not required to stop play if another court is free; however, the restrictions continue to apply. Once courts refill and persons are awaiting play, courts must be yielded by those players whose time has expired.
