Three buses stop just outside the Windgate II front entrance (on South Arlington Mill Drive):
   - Lincolnia-Park Center-Pentagon Line (7C)
   - Barcroft-South Fairlington Line (22A)
   - Shirlington-Lyon Park-Court House Line (Art 77).

Two additional bus stops are a 5-minute walk from Windgate II: one at Walter Reed/Wakefield and another at S. Randolph/S. Arlington Mill Drive. See which buses make these stops.
Shirlington Bus Station -- the main bus transfer point for S. Arlington -- is just a 10-minute walk away. The only enclosed public bus station in Arlington, it has five bus stops (for both ART and Metrobus). Inside the station, you can buy tickets, tokens, passes, Capital Bikeshare memberships, and more. Staff in the store can help you figure out options for getting where you want to go. There are public restrooms. Outside, there's a partially covered plaza.
Find bus routes that pass through Shirlington Bus Station. See a diagram showing where to catch each bus. The station is located at 2700 South Quincy St.
Across the street from Windgate II is the Four Mile Run trail. You can ride your bike to the National Mall and Capitol all the way on the trail (it's 8 miles, 35 minutes). Or you can get a bike at the Capital Bikeshare station, a 5-minute walk from Windgate II. Also nearby is the W&OD trail, a highly acclaimed 45-mile trail that goes all the way to Purcellville.
"This location is heaven for people who ride bikes," explains one Windgate II resident. "Del Rey, Old Town, Mt. Vernon, Crystal City, Falls Church, Georgetown -- all are easily accessible by bicycle from here."
Metrorail and Metrobus serves the greater metropolitan DC area, as well as Arlington. See maps and information about Metrorail and Metrobus service to Arlington
